Staley was a freshman quarterback in 2016. This season, he's a four-year starter at quarterback who has helped lead the Huskies to an undefeated record heading into a Division 8 quarterfinal game at 1 p.m. Saturday at 11-0 Ishpeming.

In 2018 the Breckenridge High School defense has turned in one of the best seasons this area has ever seen. To date the Huskie defense have allowed a grand total of 31 points against it (3.1 points per game) and posted an unheard of eight shutouts in their 10 games. Opponents are averaging a miniscule 55-yards rushing and 27 passing against a stout Breckenridge defense that has intercepted 13 passes and forced 11 fumbles. The Huskie D has also only given up two passing TDs (both in week one) and have scored twice.

The Huskies accounted for 429 yards of offensive (374 rushing).

“I thought they were pretty darn good,” Smokevitch added. “The QB was a stud. He was a tough guy to bring down. You can tell those were some kids who have been playing on varsity since they were freshmen because they were quite experienced.”

Rumor has it they contacted coach Olson and said they'd pay for the use of the Superior Dome if he moved the game there. Knowing the coach he didn't start laughing till after he said no thank you and have a safe trip up and hung up the phone!!! I remember a few year back when a LP team came to the SWAMP, their radio announcers said the way they were getting beat it should be called the wood shed!!!! Lets hope Saturday is more of the same...

Hopefully it affects them greatly! I'm hoping their 6 hour drive turns into a 10 hour drive. Nothing like having an unfair advantage. Go Blue!
