you fans from the U.P. need to read this.............I just about choked to death from laugher when reading it...........

(this from a post on Searn Football about the 8-man finals being held in the Superior Dome.)

"i dont think many people are going to make that trip as fans. they would be forced spend money in a hotel, then pay twice to cross the bridge while the first week of rifle hunting is going on. it is not like money is flowing down here like a river. By the time one school rents a charter bus, gets a hotel for the team and coaches their budget on other things is shot. it is a pain in the rear as a Parent trying to make travel plans. Also, not every on has the disposable income and maybe takes away from some families Christmas money. the Mhsaa should pay for the hotel rooms for the teams and coaches. why should it be a penalty for the schools to pay for that travel because they had a special season. I know some people are on my side, right? Four a family of 4 that is a $600 weekend all day if not more."

If those people can spend $5050+ on tuition to send there kids to St. Patrick each year, then id have a hard time imagining they don't have the disposable income to take a trip to support the kids in the state championship game.

How can anyone put a price and there kids, deer season or not my kids came first. Having a chance to be a state champ doesn't happen very often even if it is as goofy as 8 man two division camps.

that's not even the big point that can be taken from this person's post.

whoever did post the original quote thinks that only lower Michigan folks have to shell out dollars to travel during tournament time..............they have absolutely no idea how much the U.P. schools have to pay out just to continue playing in the state tournaments. There are several U.P. schools that each year have multiple trips downstate in different sports, just to continue playing in the MHSAA tournaments.............yes, the MHSAA does reimburse the schools for part of the expense.........but the fans are the ones that also have to shell out big bucks..............not to mention how much time is lost by missing work..........

really can't believe that folks in lower Michigan are so clueless about what the U.P. schools go thru to make it to Lansing, Detroit, Battle Creek, etc.................

Now it is about an eight hour trip for them to go to Marquette, their fans can do what Forest Park fans did when we went to Detroit, leave late Friday night watch the game get back on the bus and go home. We did it six years in a row surely they can handle one.

What do we know about St. Patrick? From what I have read, it doesn't look like they have played any decent teams.

FP currently up 22-6 over Portland St. Patrick in the 2nd quarter, in case no one is watching it on Fox Sports Detroit or listening in on WIKB.

PSP has virtually no answer for FP's run attack. No pass attempts for FP yet. 28-6 FP. Go Trojans!!!

Congrats to CFFP once again on winning another Championship.it appeared PSP never had a clue on the excellence of UP eight man football, the whole State does now,and this is just a continuation of that excellence which should continue into the future with all the great eight man teams that appear annually up here. :P

Congratulation to the Forest Park Trojans on the State Championship (both Trojans teams won today) and the Temperature in the Superior Dome was perfect (Not Too Hot). I should post the other Trojan team was the Central Lake Trojans who were in the first game.
