The varsity team here in Ashwaubenon have been told that if they win tonight, they will make the playoffs with a 4-5 conference record.

Personally a little shocked, but apparently there are so many .500 teams (give or take) out there this year?

Interesting tidbit down here in the North Eastern Conference...

If things happen just right tonight, there could be a 5-way tie for the conference title between Luxemburg-Casco, Little Chute, Wrightstown (currently in first), Freedom and Fox Valley Lutheran. This will happen if Little Chute beats Wrightstown and the remaining 3 schools all win.

The trend of teams that played 11 man that are A) Co-oping with others due to low numbers themselves and B) More teams going 8-man football. Last year was the anomaly with 0 sub-.500 conference records getting in.

Final number was 12 sub-.500 conference teams getting in.

Wow! Seems like this would be a good topic of discussion in Wisconsin. Play within what division you're classified in for the year, or like the MHSAA does- adjust/move teams in nearby divisions up or down.

Oh so close! All those teams won but Little Chute loses to Wrightstown 6-0. That would have been fun to see!
