GNC Scheduling solution

Postby GNCrocks » Thu Apr 05, 2018 1:45 pm

Not sure if this Idea ever floated around on here before but....

If the GNC could get back to a steady 6 teams why not leave week 9 open for a GNC Championship (1 plays 2, 3 plays 4, 5 plays 6) like the Detroit Public league does.

This would limit only having to find 8 games. Take away the 5 GNC games, only have to fill 3 weeks, fill in regularly played teams (M&M, Alpena/Esky ect....) and you are down to 2.

Anyways. 4 more months....

That would be a GNC/Big North crossover in week 9. Boom, problem solved!

Play some home and home series in football (a double round robin isn't possible). For example, Kingsford and Menominee could play twice, once early in the year and the second time in week 9.

Here is how I could see it going:
Alpena vs. Escanaba
Gladstone vs. Gaylord
Marquette vs. Traverse City Central
Kingsford vs. Traverse City West
Menominee vs. Petoskey

GNC teams playing each other twice is not a solution.

The solution is getting the playoffs changed where it is no longer 6 wins and your in. Put it back to the points system and make teams earn it.

Reward teams who play up in this system.

Do that and things will sort themselves out.

Why not have a WestPAC / GNC crossover? Geographically and enrollment wise it makes more sense then the Big North / GNC. Truth is we all know why. I'm just calling it out.
