I don't think the Vikes would even know what to do with a young QB - "wait, he's UNDER 30? By how much? Is it even legal to play him?"

I expected KC to fall off significantly in the W/L column; I did NOT expect them to start looking like...well, the '08 Lions.

As we kick off the historic rivalry between the Packers and Bears, here's a quick video of a Packers player many think of when we think of the exciting memories between these two teams:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaGyLRM85Ck

Then this is a very good read. Hope it sends a message to our young U.P. football players. A little FYI, the Bear's Alan Page who blocked the FG try will always be remembered as a Minnesota Viking. Minnesota had a great reputation for blocking XP's back then. I remember an article in Football Digest titled "Why the extra point is no longer automatic."

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/130233773.html

According to wikipedia, after coming from Poland Marchol lived in Imlay City (thumb of Michigan) and later played at Hillsdale. After is time in the NFL, he would try to commit suicide by drinking battery acid and needs to have his esophagus stretched 3 times a year. Currently he lives up in God's Country in Dollar Bay.

He was a fan favorite for many. Wish him the best.

Now, back to the rivalry!....

Lions and Packers tied for first. When was the last time that happened? I think they both win again next week....

Probably sometime in the mid-90s.

Bummer is that they don't meet until week 12, and I've got both teams pegged for a couple losses by then, so it probably isn't going to be a "game of the century"-type meeting.

They played for the division title in the final week of '93.

Both were 2-1 in week 3 of '99 (both finished 8-8)

No tie, but in '07, Detroit was hot on the 7-1 Packers' heels at 6-2 before the roof caved in on them.

That's all I've got.

Just in case you want to brush up on the Packers. We can have a ceremony to rid you of all your purple gear, and welcome you into Green & Gold family. It will be like being born again! Trust me!

That's OK Amasaman I haven't cracked up yet(at least I think so) I must have more will power than I thought,if I survived the Les Steckel year ,I should be able to make it thru this until it becomes 0-16.

You might have to worry about GB going 16-0, though.

I have them pegged for Chicago 18-1, not a NE 18-1.

Maybe San Diego isn't going to be that big of a test for GB.

Packers losing to Kansas City may be the best thing to happen to them all year. The monkey of the unbeaten season is off their back. Now they can just concentrate on winning playoff games. They will be favored in all of them.

The Lions have legitimate shot at making the playoffs this year. Who would have thunk it? Things are looking good for area football fans. Well.... except for Bears and Viking fans.

I agree, the injuries they sustained could be a problem but the loss is not important.

Great to see the Lions out there fighting again.
